The Spanish Circuit de Catalunya has second crash in a week
The Spanish Circuit de Catalunya unfortunately experienced its second high-speed crash within a week when German driver Nico Rosberg wrecked his car at turn seven, bringing an end to the Barcelona test for Williams.
Formula One driver Nico Rosberg escaped unhurt but he got taken to hospital as a precautionary measure before he was allowed to return home.
The Circuit de Catalunya plays host to the Spanish Grand Prix later this month and on Monday, the team's test driver Kazuki Nakajima smashed into the tyre barriers and caused damage to the right side of his car.
Williams had to order and fly out more parts to repair Kazuki Nakajima's damaged vehicle.
Nico Rosberg had his accident early in the day when the track was still damp from the heavy rain they had the previous day.
Williams' technical director Sam Michael said: "Nico's fine. However, the damage cannot be repaired at the circuit so the test team is now returning to the factory."
