Stefano Domenicali to be new Ferrari F1 boss
Stefano Domenicali is to replace Jean Todt as manager of the Ferrari Formula One team from January 2008, it has been announced.
However, Frenchman Jean Todt, who has been credited as one of the main people responsible for turning Ferrari into one of the sports most successful teams, will remain with them in a senior executive position.
And elsewhere in motorsport, former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn is being appointed as Honda's new F1 manager as well, and on the same day.
Stefano Domenicali, who worked under Ross Brawn, is actually being promoted from sporting director to manager, and he had also inherited this job from Jean Todt.
Ferrari's decision to replace Jean Todt with Stefano Domenicali follows a break down in talks with Ross Brawn about a return to the team.
Ferrari's success in the late 1990s and in more recent years was mainly due to Michael Schumacher's arrival at the team in 1996.
