Spyker to change to Force India Formula One
Formula One racing team Spyker are being allowed to change their name to Force India Formula One by motorsport's governing body, the FIA, it has been reported.
Spyker, which was bought by the Indian billionaire Vijay Mallya, will be racing under the new name with a logo in the colours of the Indian flag from next season. Vijay Mallya is said to have paid £61m for the team.
Spyker have very little to show for themselves in this season's events, and have only won one constructors' point, however, Vijay Mallya says he wants to keep the German rookie driver Adrian Sutil who he isn't blaming for the results of the team so far.
Vijay Mallya said: "I am very happy with Adrian Sutil and I've told team boss Colin Kolles that we need to keep him."
Spyker have had three name changes since 2005, when Silverstone-based Jordan was bought by Midland F1, and then went on to become Spyker Cars after the Dutch car manufacturer bought the team in the next season.
