Renault also threaten to leave Formula One
Renault have just become the latest motorsport team that has threatened to leave Formula One racing because they are unhappy about a £40m budget cap in 2010.
On Tuesday of this week, Ferrari followed Toyota and Red Bull by threatening to quit the sport of Formula One racing unless the proposals are scrapped.
Renault manager Flavio Briatore is reported to have explained: "If the decisions are not revised, we have no choice but to withdraw from the world championship at the end of 2009."
However, whatever happens, Ferrari have just announced that they intend to carry on racing in other series even if they do pull out of Formula One.
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has confirmed that this is what his team are intending to do.
It has been rumoured that Ferrari may start a rival series, take part in American motor racing events, or enter their cars in the Le Mans 24 hour race.
