Red Bull launch new Adrian Newey designed car
Red Bull energy drinks company have launched a Renault-powered RB3, which is their first car to be built under the guidance of designer Adrian Newey.
Dietrich Mateschitz of Red Bull commented: "We are at least as ambitious where our sporting performance is concerned as we are towards entertainment."
And Adrian Newey, 47, explained that the RB3 contains elements of some McLaren designs: "Undoubtedly some aspects of RB3 are 'McLaren-esque' and are to some extent a development of the work I was doing when I was there."
Adrian Newey has become well known as the leading racing-car designer in the world after his car designs for Williams and McLaren dominated the 1990s.
After McLaren had been going downhill a bit due to Ferrari being on top in the early 2000s, before he joined Red Bull, Adrian Newey had got them back on course with the fastest car in 2005.
