New Silverstone racing track plans announced

silverstone New development plans for the Silverstone motor racing track in Northamptonshire are about to be revealed on council websites, in libraries and tourist offices. And local residents will be invited to comment on a new document from South Northants and Aylesbury Vale district councils

The new proposals for Silverstone include a motor sport technology park and education campus, a business park, hotels, restaurants and a housing development.

A welcome centre is planned for the racetrack, as well as a museum, an exhibition area and an arena for a range of motoring interests and facilities.

The planners are hoping to create a centre for motor sport technology, as well as for rural employment and a specialised tourist destination.

The new Silverstone planning document will be available for public consideration from Tuesday 16 October, and the consultation lasts until 26 November 2007.
