Motorsport manager Max Mosley to tackle racism
President of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Max Mosley has said he will impose immediate sanctions if there are any more incidents of racist abuse taking place in Formula One racing.
Max Mosley has made this announcement following McLaren's Lewis Hamilton being racially abused by spectators during pre-season testing in Barcelona.
Max Mosley said: "We will do whatever it takes to stamp this out. If a very small number of people are involved, it ought to be possible to stop it immediately."
And Max Mosley, was quoted in the Sunday Times, saying that the FIA could "pull the Grand Prix" if the racist abuse carried on. Max Mosley was referring to the Spanish Grand Prix.
"Not to give the Spanish authorities the opportunity to show they can deal with it and ensure there is no recurrence would have been over the top, but it is necessary to make it clear it will not be tolerated, and we have done that," Max Mosley added.
