Motorsport boss Max Mosley wins case against News of the World
Motorsport boss Max Mosley, who has recently been the subject of a scandal over an alleged Nazi-themed orgy, has won his case against the News of the World newspaper, which had published the story about him.
The High Court ruled that the News of the World breached Mr Mosley's privacy, and he was awarded £60,000 in damages.
The judge, Mr Justice Eady, explained that privacy for consensual sexual activities was to be expected and the newspaper had not respected this.
68-year-old Mosley admitted that a sado-masochistic sex session with five prostitutes had taken place, but he claimed it had nothing to do with Nazis.
The News of the World story, which alleged this, was put together from a secret video they had received from one of the women who took part in the sex session.
Max Mosley he has been devastated by what the News of the World had done, which included posting the video on its website.
