Michael Schumacher to decide if he will retire from Formula One
Michael Schumacher, 37, is expected to reach a decision next month as to whether he will retire from Formula One, according to Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn.
Michael Schumacher's Ferrari contract finishes at the end of the season but he seems likely to decide on his future before then.
"We haven't given him an ultimatum," Ross Brawn told German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung.
"But I'm convinced Michael will let Ferrari know his decision between now and June, maybe even as early as May," Brawn added.
There has been a lot of speculation about whether Michael Schumacher will choose to further his career at Ferrari, change teams or pack up the sport.
Renault boss Flavio Briatore is reported to have already made it known that he wants to sign Michael Schumacher as a replacement for Fernando Alonso, who will be joining McLaren in 2007.
It is thought that Michael Schumacher is frustrated by Ferrari's lack of success since he won his seventh world title in 2004.
