Michael Schumacher supports Ferrari's Felipe Massa

massa Ferrari adviser Michael Schumacher is backing Ferrari driver Felipe Massa to win the championship although he has had a disappointing start to the season so far.

Michael Schumacher thinks 26-year-old Felipe Massa can recover his past form when he races this weekend in Bahrain, which is where he was a winner last year.

Michael Schumacher explained: "It's not the best of starts, but things will turn around very quickly I think in his favour. He is certainly still very capable of winning the championship this year."

Felipe Massa pulled out of the Australian Grand Prix that began the season and then he went into the gravel after he began on pole position on the last round in Malaysia.

UK driver Lewis Hamilton is in the lead with 14 points but Michael Schumacher thinks Felipe Massa will nevertheless catch him up.

"Massa is very focused, knows what is going on and what he has to do. Pressure is normal in our world and I am certain he knows how to deal with it," Michael Schumacher said.
