McLaren Group boss Ron Dennis will not leave Formula One
Ron Dennis, who is the chairman, CEO and 15% owner of the McLaren Group, has decided not to leave the Formula One team.
Ron Dennis, 60, had thought of quitting at least one of his roles with the team following last year's Formula One "spygate" trouble, however, he has reconsidered and will carry on holding the roles of chief executive and chairman of McLaren Group as well as the principal of the Formula One team.
Ron Dennis has just informed his staff that he has changed his mind before he was on his way to Australia in readiness for the beginning of the Formula One season this weekend.
Ron Dennis had been under investigation and scrutiny in and following the 'spygate' affair.
McLaren were fined £50m and lost their constructors' championship points after being convicted of possessing data that belonged to rival company Ferrari.
A probe was launched into the matter, and Ron Dennis is said to have been one of the McLaren executives Italian police took in for questioning.
