Max Biaggi aims to beat Valentino Rossi for Formula One seat
Max Biaggi will carry on his attempt to beat old MotorGP rival
Valentino Rossi for a seat in Formula One by testing for Midland at
Silverstone on Wednesday.
When he found himself without a team after being dropped by Honda, Max
Biaggi, 34, considered a move to World Superbikes with Kawasaki but he
is also thinking about a future switch to Formula One.
MotoGP racing champion Valentino Rossi, 26, has tested several times for Ferrari and is seen as a real prospect on four wheels.
Four-time 250cc champion Max Biaggi said he was looking forward to the
chance for another drive in a Formula One car after trying out with
Ferrari in 1999.
"I am really excited about testing the car," Max Biaggi said.
"I must thank everyone in the team for giving me this opportunity and I look forward to comparing MotoGP and Formula One."
Max Biaggi's outing at Silverstone will consist of a small
number of laps in last year's vehicle and is intended to give him a
general feel for the racing car.
However, defending world champion Valentino Rossi has just one more
year to go on his Yamaha contract and is bidding to land his sixth
successive MotorGP title.
