Lewis Hamilton does well at German Grand Prix practice
UK Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton dominated both practice sessions for the German Grand Prix and left his rivals behind him.
Despite the bad weather conditions for the morning session, Hamilton stayed on top and finished in one minute 15.025 seconds at Hockenheim, beating Ferrari's Felipe Massa by 0.7 secs.
Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen was also behind him.
Following his victory at Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton, driving for Mclaren, is aiming for one-after-another wins in Germany and the top spot in the drivers' standings.
He is currently in a three-way tie with Ferrari drivers Massa and Raikkonen on 48 points, however, Hamilton has the edge on countback.
German Grand Prix practice at Hockenheim began on a rain-drenched track and, although the rain stopped, it took an hour into the 90-minute session before it dried up again.
Hamilton showed his skill despite the bad conditions and he said: "It was a very strong performance and just showed we are very competitive with a strong package."
