Japanese Super Aguri pull out of F1 World Championship
The Japanese Super Aguri team have been forced to pull out from the Formula One World Championship because they never got the funds they needed.
Super Aguri have packed up their motor racing involvement as of now onwards and will not be taking part at this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix it has been reported.
The Super Aguri team have had a struggle to keep going since a takeover bid by the Dubai-based Magma Group fell through last month.
Team founder Aguri Suzuki explained their situation: "Regretfully I must inform you that the team will be ceasing racing activities. The loss of financial backing put the team into financial difficulties."
And he added: "With the help of Honda, we somehow managed to keep the team going, but we find it difficult to establish a way to continue the activities in the future so I have concluded to withdraw.
Super Aguri's car, engine and gearbox as well as funding was from Honda, but the team was expected to start paying for their equipment and this they couldn't do.
