German F1 driver Nico Rosberg signs with Williams
German Formula One racing driver Nico Rosberg has signed a new deal with Williams, ending all the rumours about him going to the McLaren team.
Nico Rosberg's new contract with Williams will take him through until the end of the 2009 season.
Nico Rosberg, 22, who is the son of Finland's 1982 world champion Keke, came ninth in the drivers' championship last season.
Nico Rosberg was quoted in German newspaper Bild as saying: "Williams have made me an attractive, far better offer with a new contract up to 2009 and I decided to accept it,
"For Williams the question of letting me go (to McLaren) never arose."
Nico Rosberg will have Japan's Kazuki Nakajima as his team-mate with Williams.
"I could imagine myself (joining McLaren) just like I could see myself at Ferrari in 2008. Every young driver wants a car that can bring you the title. I'm no different. I race for success. But I feel I have to be patient, like most people," Nico Rosberg also said.
