Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone's offer rejected
Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone was quoted in the News of the World newspaper as saying that team bosses had rejected his offer to help by buying up the management.
Ecclestone is reported to have said: "I tried to help with the management buy-out."
Meanwhile Honda has admitted it is worried because it has not been able to find any buyers for its Formula One team.
Honda had pulled out of motorsport last year due to the ongoing financial crisis.
It is thought that Honda need to find a buyer this week, giving the team one month to get ready for the season's first race in Melbourne.
Honda president Takeo Fukui had to admit they had not found any buyer although they had some offers from potentially interested parties. Any prospective buyer for Honda's team would need to find a budget of around £40m.
A management buyout, by current chief executive Nick Fry and team boss Ross Brawn, has been talked about, and Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson has also been reported to be interested in becoming involved in Formula One.
