Formula One may be coming to the Canary Islands
Reports have been suggesting that Formula One racing will be coming to the Canary Islands and that a world-class circuit is going to be built on Tenerife.
The Canarian Government already has a slogan: "Canary Islands, Your Next Circuit."
It was rumoured that Formula One supreme Bernie Ecclestone and managing director of Renault, Flavio Briatore were ready to fly to Tenerife for talks on the matter.
Unconfirmed sources have apparently claimed that the two big names in the world of Formula One were actually on the island in November.
It is also being speculated that a further track will be constructed on Gran Canaria
The circuits might be used for practice and test-drives at the beginning, but Ferrari, McLaren and Williams are said to be interested in using the tracks if they are built on Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
