Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton makes an apology
British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has made an apology to the McLaren team that he drives for after he crashed whilst qualifying for Monaco.
Hamilton went into a barrier in the first session and, if that wasn't bad enough, he then got put back to the back of the grid because a new gearbox had to be put in his car.
24-year-old Hamilton admitted that he had made a mistake and wasted his team's time.
In the past, however, Hamilton has performed exceptionally well at Monaco, and has won four of the five times he has raced there.
Hamilton has had a disappointing season so far but was optimistic ahead of the sessions and his McLaren car seemed in good working order.
But unfortunately Hamilton lost the rear end of his car as he went into the Mirabeau hairpin and he crashed into the tyre wall barrier.
