Fernando Alonso still confident about his Formula One title
Renault racing driver Fernando Alonso is still confident of defending his Formula One crown following a rather disappointing Italian Grand Prix.
Fernando Alonso lost five grid places after a penalty and then withdrew because of engine failure to put him just two points clear of Michael Schumacher, however, the Spaniard insisted: "I am not worried about the title.
"We have three rounds left to go and we will get stronger and stronger. The verdict in Italy is simple: the race was decided off the track on Saturday."
Fernando Alonso started 10th on the grid after he was penalised because he had allegedly blocked Ferrari's Felipe Massa from qualifying.
But Fernando Alonso showed his talent as a driver, and the R26's capabilities, when he fought his way up to third place before his engine blew.
"When you start from 10th, you have to push everything to the limit - yourself, the car, the tyres and the engine," explained Fernando Alonso.
