F1 driver Lewis Hamilton says no war with Fernando Alonso
British Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton says the rumours that he is not speaking to McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso after the incident at the Hungary GP are simply not true.
"We are not drivers at war, as has been widely reported," Lewis Hamilton explained.
Lewis Hamilton, 22, went on to add: "Although we did not speak on Sunday, we have spoken a few times since the weekend and we continue to have a professional working relationship.
"In fact, Fernando and I plan to meet up over the (August) holiday period."
Lewis Hamilton, who is leading Fernando Alonso by seven points, also said: "For the record, Fernando and I are fiercely competitive and respectful of each other. We are both ambitious drivers who want to win."
The relationship between the two drivers was reported to broken down totally at the Hungarian Grand Prix at the weekend, at which event Fernando Alonso was relegated to fifth place for blocking Lewis Hamilton.
