F1 driver Lewis Hamilton appears at Paris "spygate" trial
Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton maintained that he was "relaxed and confident" as he prepared to give evidence at the 'spygate' hearing in Paris on Thursday, and being smartly dressed when he arrived at the venue overlooking Place de la Concorde he certainly looked that way.
Lewis Hamilton, 22, who drives for McLaren, is one of a number of big names to appear at the World Motor Sport Council hearing into charges that McLaren made use of leaked Ferrari information.
Lewis Hamilton, who currently leads this season's Formula One title race by three points from team-mate Fernando Alonso, was appearing at the hearing of his own volition and had not been summoned there, however, he felt his presence would be a help to McLaren team boss Ron Dennis.
If found guilty as charged, McLaren could be expelled from not only this year's championship, but also from next year's as well.
On his way into the hearing Lewis Hamilton said: "We work together as a team. I am relaxed and confident about today."
