F1 Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen escapes crash
Formula One racing driver Kimi Raikkonen who races for Ferrari, escaped injury in a high-speed crash during his last practice run before Sunday's Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen swerved to the right at the approach to the left-hand Curva del Vialone at 200mph when the crash took place.
Kimi Raikkonen's racing car was destroyed when, 25 minutes into the hour-long session, it hit the wall along the Curva del Serraglio and he got carried along another 70 metres to collide with a tyre barrier.
However, Kimi Raikkonen managed to get free from the crashed vehicle without any help and he was able to walk back to the garage on his own.
Kimi Raikkonen will now have to use his spare car in qualifying.
The session had already been delayed for 20 minutes so that marshals could make repairs to the crash barriers.
