Damon Hill talks to Bernie Ecclestone about Silverstone
British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) boss Damon Hill says he is optimistic about an arrangement being reached to ensure the British Grand Prix stays at Silverstone.
Many improvements are in the pipeline for the racetrack to make sure that Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone will extend the deal to host the Grand Prix beyond its 2009 deadline. Damon Hill explained: "We're committed to doing all we can to upgrade the facility."
Damon Hill met Bernie Ecclestone at the Hungarian Grand Prix to update the Formula One Supremo about their plans.
Damon Hill added: "From the conversation I've had with him he would just like to see something happen. Now we've a chance to do that."
It has been reported that at an extraordinary general meeting of the BRDC in July, members voted in favour of a £25m redevelopment plan.
Damon Hill also said: "There is still a lot of work to be done on the planning and development permissions."
