Changes announced in Formula One calendar
Changes to the Formula One seasonal calendar have been announced and there will now be 18 Grand Prix races in 2008, with two new street races in Valencia and Singapore.
The calendar released by Formula One governing body the FIA on Friday begins as usual in Australia, despite earlier claims by the Melbourne organisers.
The Formula One season has been extended by one race this year to make room for the new events.
The new Valencia race will be held on 24 August and Singapore takes place on 28 September, although both races need the FIA's approval of the tracks.
The Canadian Grand Prix race on 8 June is listed as provisional pending confirmation of the contractual details.
The Formula One season will now finish on 2 November in Brazil, as usual, and the UK Grand Prix is on 6 July.
The Turkish Grand Prix race has been moved from August to 11 May, to allow the Valencia event to go ahead.
