Brazilian driver Felipe Massa kept Ferrari on track in Monza
Brazilian racing driver Felipe Massa kept Ferrari on track for a dominant performance in Monza, setting the pace in his last practice before he qualified for Sunday's Grand Prix.
Felipe Massa clocked one minute 21.665 seconds in front of of BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld and Ferrari teammate Michael Schumacher 0.592secs behind in third place.
Renault's championship leader Fernando Alonso, defending a 12-point lead from Michael Schumacher, came in at fifth and Jenson Button was 12th after Honda were forced to go back to their old engine.
Felipe Massa is seeking his second straight pole position after breaking his career duck last time he raced, which was in Istanbul and a race he went on to win.
But the onus will be on Michael Schumacher, who is 12 points behind championship leader Alonso in the standings and with four races left to go.
