American racing driver Marco Andretti tests for Honda Formula One
American IndyCar racing driver Marco Andretti will be testing again for the Honda Formula One team later this week in Jerez.
Marco Andretti, 19, who was born in Nazareth, Pennsylvania and is the son of 1991 IndyCar World Series champion Michael Andretti as well as the grandson of racing legend Mario Andretti clearly has motor racing in his blood and continues in the successful footsteps of his father and grandfather.
Marco Andretti impressed Honda to such an extent in his first test in December that he now starts a more comprehensive two-day session.
"I felt I did a good job in December but on the first day you spend more time getting used to the car and familiarising yourself with the circuit," said Marco Andretti.
Honda sporting director Gil de Ferran said with confidence in Marco Andretti: "Given the potential Marco has demonstrated and the availability of last year's RA106, we saw Jerez as a great opportunity to put him back in the car."
