US tennis star Venus Williams beats Kateryna Bondarenko

venus williamsAmerican tennis star Venus Williams has booked her place in the third round of Wimbledon with a 6-3 6-2 winning score against Ukrainian player Kateryna Bondarenko.

Williams won against her opponent in 69 minutes and although some people may have wondered why her left knee was well wrapped in strapping she afterwards explained that it was just support.

22-year-old Bondarenko tried her best it but she was unable to hold her own against the third seeded US star who has now made a total of an impressive 16 victories in a row whilst playing in tournaments at Wimbledon.

29-year-old Williams has a grand total of 20 victories in all the games she has played at the prestigious British tennis event.

After her success Williams will now go forward to taking on Carla Suarez Navarro from Spain, who has qualified for the third round as well by defeating Ekaterina Makarova with a 7-5 4-6 6-1 victory score.
