Thomas Johansson defeated by Andy Murray

thomas Swedish tennis star Thomas Johansson was beaten by Scotland's Andy Murray 7-6 (7-4) 6-0 in Doha, although he had started well in the game.

Thomas Johansson, now 32 and world-ranked 62, gave Andy Murray a few problems in the first set that went with a serve to a tie-break, however, it was Andy Murray who won out in the end.

A cross-court pass allowed Andy Murray to break in the first game of the second set and afterwards he said:"I was more aggressive in the second set, and also more confident. When Johansson served I was aggressive in my returns. After that early break, I had the momentum and I saw his head go down."

Andy Murray added: "He served really well in the opening set. Obviously, he won a high percentage of points on his first serve. I expected it to be tough and it was that way."

Andy Murray, won the game in 61-minutes and showed some of his best playing performance in doing so.

Andy Murray now goes forward to a Qatar Open semi-final with top seeded Nikolay Davydenko on Friday.
