Tests show no proof that Tommy Haas was poisoned
German tennis star Tommy Haas was believed to have been poisoned during his country's Davis Cup semi-final loss to Russia in Moscow in September but blood tests have found no conclusive evidence to support the allegation.
An investigation was begun following claims by teammate Alexander Waske that someone had told him that Tommy Haas, who had gastro-enteritis at the time of the incident, had been poisoned.
The German Tennis Federation website has reported that Tommy Haas has said: "It's no longer an issue.
"The tests gave no results. It was too far in the past."
Tommy Haas had been defeated in straight sets on the first day of the semi-final, which Russia won 3-2, and he wasn't able to take part in the reverse singles.
Tommy Haas received the blood tests in New York to determine if he had been poisoned and on the same trip to America he had a minor operation on his right shoulder.
