Tennis star Venus Williams beats Dinara Safina

venus williamsUS tennis star Venus Williams has defeated her third-seeded opponent Dinara Safina with a 6-4 6-2 score to proceed to the semi-finals of the Porsche Grand Prix, which is being held in Stuttgart, Germany.

Williams started well in the game and kept in command most of the way. She broke leading by 5-4 and served out the first set, and then after taking another lead of 4-0 in the second set the game was hers.

Venus Williams next faces Jelena Jankovic who defeated Vera Zvonareva.

Williams and Safina were competing against each other for the first time and Williams was really happy to have managed to have won against a player who has claimed four titles this year and gone up to world number three.

It was Williams first match in Stuttgart in a decade and she was playing at her best throughout the game.
