Tennis star Roger Federer begins work with Jose Higueras
Swiss tennis star Roger Federer is to start working with Spanish clay-court coach Jose Higueras helping him this week as he gets ready for the French Open.
World number one Roger Federer, 26, has been without a coach since May of last year, and his recent career has been in a slump so far this year, which has not seen him up to his past level of performance. Roger Federer has yet to reach a final in the four tournaments he has taken part in so far this season.
Roger Federer begins working with Jose Higueras at the Estoril Open in Portugal.
Roger Federer is looking forward to having a new coach and said: "He's one of the world's most respected and accomplished coaches. We are going to see if we could make a good team."
Jose Higueras had in the past reached two semi-finals at Roland Garros as a player himself as well as going on to coach 1989 champion Michael Chang.
