Tennis star Martina Hingis beats Naomi Cavaday at Wimbledon

swiss miss Former tennis champion Martina Hingis had a difficult battle against British teenage player Naomi Cavaday to win at Wimbledon.

Naomi Cavaday, 18, who is 221 places behind Martina Hingis in the world rankings at 232, fought off three set points in the first set before she went on to win the tie-break 7-1.

Naomi Cavaday fought well in the second set to force two match points, but then slipped up 7-5.

Swiss star Martina Hingis from then on gained control of the game winning the third set to claim a 6-7 (1-7) 7-5 6-0 victory.

Martina Hingis had recently been sidelined for five weeks with a back injury and she struggled at times early on in the game against Naomi Cavaday.

Although she put on a very spirited performance it wasn-t enough to win and a disappointed Naomi Cavaday said: "There are loads of positives that I can take but I'm really gutted I didn't take (the match)."
