Tennis star Mardy Fish injured by American football
World number 31 tennis star Mardy Fish has been forced to pull out of the French Open because he has injured his foot due to kicking an American football.
It is reported that Mardy Fish sprained ligaments whilst trying to kick a field goal on his visit to the NFL Europa team Rhein Fire on Wednesday.
Mardy Fish was part of the USA squad at the World Team Cup but has had to go back to America for treatment for his injury.
Fellow tennis player James Blake commented on Mardy Fish's injury: "It's really unfortunate for Mardy, but we also have to be human beings and live a life,
"We all learn not to do silly things and to be more careful if we are going to do anything like that.
"But we can't live in a shell or a bubble and only play tennis and never go out and do anything. It's a tough balance."
