Tennis star Lindsay Davenport for next year's Fed Cup
American tennis star Lindsay Davenport will represent her country in the Fed Cup for the first time since 2005 as she continues to make her comeback next year.
Lindsay Davenport, 31, returned to sport in September after nearly a year away, which was caused because she had given birth to son Jagger in June.
Lindsay Davenport has agreed to play in the tie against Germany on 2-3 February at La Jolla, California, and USA captain Zina Garrison said: "We are thrilled to have her back."
Lindsay Davenport won two titles in three matches she took part in when she made her return to tennis in September, and she is finishing the year with a 13-1 record.
Lindsay Davenport said proudly: "I am honoured to represent my country on the US Fed Cup team once again,
"My Fed Cup appearances have given me some of the best memories of my career and I look forward to La Jolla and helping our team advance to the semi-finals."
