Tennis star Justine Henin says politics and sport don't mix

henin Belgian woman tennis star Justine Henin says she thinks that politics and sport should not be mixed at the Olympics Games later this year.

It had been reported that those taking part from Great Britain would not be allowed to make political comment at the Beijing Olympic Games in August, and Justine Henin agrees with this.

Justine Henin explained her feelings on the matter in this way: "Politics and sport must remain separate. Athletes must be focused on our job, which is sport, which is our passion. We all hope to bring joy to the people watching the Games."

China has been condemned for its recent human and animal rights record and it is feared that some athletes, and possibly other activists, will use the occasion of the Olympic Games to make political protests.

Justine Henin went on to add: "I'm of course concerned about the politics surrounding the Games, but I'm going there to play tennis not play politics."
