Tennis star Justine Henin faces Svetlana Kuznetsova
Belgian tennis star Justine Henin will next face Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final of the last warm-up tournament in Sydney. Svetlana Kuznetsova and Justine Henin are the two top seeds for the Australian Open.
Following an uneventful beginning to the tournament, Justine Henin enjoyed the contest her opponent provided when she had to fight to beat Serbia's Ana Ivanovic 6-2 2-6 6-4.
Justine Henin said: "It was important to get this close match before the Australian Open, that's what I need now."
And while Justine Henin was busy defeating Ana Ivanovic, Svetlana Kuznetsova was beating unseeded Czech player Nicole Vaidisova 7-5 7-6 (7-4).
The Australian Open is due to start in Melbourne on 14 January, by which time Justine Henin hopes to have taken her current run of wins to 28 matches in her 56th WTA Tour final appearance.
But of her next game against Svetlana Kuznetsova, Justine Henin knows she is in for a battle and she said: "She's pretty aggressive, takes her opportunities, so I know it's going to be a tough match."
