Tennis star David Nalbandian defeats Roger Federer
Argentinean tennis star David Nalbandian has won the first Masters Series title of his career when he beat Roger Federer 1-6 6-3 6-3 in a very impressive victory in Madrid.
Swiss player and world number one Roger Federer easily won the first set, but David Nalbandian broke in the second game of the second set and levelled the score.
Roger Federer made more errors in the third set, and in so doing, lost the game.
David Nalbandian said proudly: "I'm extremely contented to beat the world number one. Roger and I have a long history and I think that influenced the match,
"Things came out fine. Today I played incredible."
Roger Federer had previously defeated David Nalbandian in eight of their last nine games including a 6-4 6-0 win in the semi-final in Spain in 2006, and he said: "He served well, I was quite surprised with how well he served."
