Tennis star Andy Murray parts company with Brad Gilbert
British tennis star Andy Murray has decided to call it a day with coach Brad Gilbert after 16 months of working as a team.
Andy Murray enlisted American Brad Gilbert in July 2006 to help him and he then went from 36 in the world rankings to a high position of eight.
In a highest ever salary deal, the Lawn Tennis Association paid Brad Gilbert's wage, reported to be £750,000.
Brad Gilbert signed a three-year deal as a performance director and, as well as being Andy Murray's coach, also had a wider role of responsibilities within the LTA.
Andy Murray explained: "Despite being injured for almost four months this year, I am pleased with my 2007 results and am very grateful for the help that the LTA have given me by providing Brad Gilbert as a coach.
"But the time has come to move on to the next stage of my career."
