Tennis star Andy Murray looks forward to US hard courts

andy murrayScottish tennis star Andy Murray is looking forward to playing well on the American hard courts later this summer, and thinks he is going to make a very impressive performance at the US Open.

"I feel more comfortable playing on the American hard courts," Murray explained.

21-year-old Andy Murray is already guaranteed to reach the world's top 10 after he got through to the Wimbledon quarter-finals.

Although it is usual for British professional tennis players to perform best on grass, Murray feels certain the US Open in September, rather than Wimbledon in the UK, is where he will get his best chance of success in a Grand Slam.

Murray is planning to play three tennis tournaments, in Indianapolis (from14 July), Toronto (21 July) and Cincinnati (28 July) as well as the Beijing Olympics, which is due to end on 17 August, before he competes in the US Open, which starts on 25 August.

He is likely to fly to America early to acclimatise and train.
