Tennis star Andy Murray beats Olivier Rochus
Scottish tennis star Andy Murray has got off to a great start to the new season with a win against Belgian player Olivier Rochus in the first round of the Qatar Open.
Andy Murray defeated Olivier Rochus 6-0 6-2 and now goes forward to a last-16 meeting with either Rainer Schuettler or Andrei Pavel.
Andy Murray, who was seeded third in the contest, played impressively and won the first set in less than half an hour.
Olivier Rochus, who is ranked 48 in the world, fought back as best he could in the second set but he was clearly no match for Andy Murray.
Andy Murray has said that in 2008 he wants to challenge the top five in tennis and his victory against Olivier Rochus has given him a good starting point.
Andy Murray has been in Miami working on his fitness with a crew of specialist coaches that he put together after parting company with coach Brad Gilbert.
