Tennis star Andy Murray beaten by Fernando Gonzalez

andrew murrayScottish tennis star Andy Murray's hopes of claiming his first Grand Slam victory has ended because he was beaten by Fernando Gonzalez at the French Open in Paris.

Murray was well aware that Gonzalez would not be an easy opponent to win against and so it turned out and it was the Chilean who won the match.

At one point Murray managed to level the score but was not able to hold his own or take the lead against his opponent.

28-year-old Gonzalez claimed a 6-3 3-6 6-0 6-4 victory against the world number three.

Gonzalez now goes forward to face Robin Soderling in the semi-finals.

Gonzalez is an expert on the clay tennis court and his skill was clearly displayed as he won against Murray.

The Scotsman admitted afterwards that he hadn't been playing well enough towards the end of the match.
