Swiss tennis star Roger Federer denies career slump
Swiss tennis star Roger Federer maintains that rumours that his career is going downhill are unfounded.
World number one, Roger Federer, 26, has just been defeated in the first round of last week's Dubai Championships by UK star Andy Murray.
Losing to Andy Murray was Roger Federer's first match since Novak Djokovic had also beaten him in the Australian Open semi-finals back in January.
Roger Federer said: "In Switzerland there is a little too much speculation my career is over. But I am happy and healthy, not miserable and down and out."
Roger Federer was referring to the fact that he had been ill in Melbourne when he had been suffering from glandular fever but since then he has made a full recovery and claimed a 6-3 6-7 (7-4) 7-6 (8-6) win against Grand Slam winner Pete Sampras with a very impressive display at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
