Swiss tennis star Roger Federer beats Spain's Feliciano Lopez

roger Swiss tennis star Roger Federer battled his way back to defeat Spain's Feliciano Lopez 3-6 6-4 6-1 6-4 and to go through to the quarter-finals of the US Open.

Roger Federer was in trouble in trouble early on as Feliciano Lopez's serving skills and sharp volleys made sure he won the first set, however, Roger Federer just managed to take the second set by breaking in game 10 and from then on had recovered his form and went on to win.

Roger Federer now goes on to play against 2003 champion Andy Roddick in the last eight.

Roger Federer said: "(Lopez) was playing fantastic for the first two sets, dictating play, serving unbelievable,"

"When you do lose a set you start to wonder, 'Maybe this is the night it's not going to work out for me'. But I played great at the end."
