Swiss tennis star Roger Federer beats Jose Acasuso

roger federerSwiss tennis star Roger Federer made a great display of skill as he fought to defeat Jose Acasuso in the second round of the French Open where he is aiming to win his first title.

Although 27-year-old Federer claimed the first set his Argentinean opponent, who is currently number 45 in the world rankings, battled back and levelled the score.

Then Acasuso went into the lead by 5-1 in the third set although Federer managed to turn things around and claim victory with a 7-6 (10-8) 5-7 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 score.

In the past, Federer has got through to the semi-finals of the last 19 Grand Slams but it looked likely at some points in this match as if he was not going to prevail against the Argentinean player so it must have been a great relief for him to have won.
