Swiss tennis star Roger Federer's top rank threatened
Swiss tennis star Roger Federer's world number one ranking is threatened it seems following his defeat at the Toronto Masters in his first game since playing at Wimbledon.
Federer was beaten 2-6 7-5 6-4 by unseeded French player Gilles Simon in the second round.
Meanwhile Rafael Nadal claimed a 6-4 6-2 victory against Jesse Levine and is moving nearer to replacing Federer at the top.
Roger Federer was first in the rankings and leading by 1,445 points in January, however, if Nadal wins in Canada it would be less than 300 that the Swiss star is ahead by.
A disappointed Federer was looking to recover his losses and make sure he does well in the near future.
The world number one explained: "I have to regroup and look forward. The bigger picture is the Olympic Games and the US Open and those are the places I really want to win so I have to make sure I am ready for that."
