Spanish tennis star Rafel Nadal to play Lleyton Hewitt

rafael nadalSpanish tennis star Rafael Nadal goes forward to face Australia's Lleyton Hewitt in the third round of the French Open after the world number one defeated Teimuraz Gabashvili with a 6-1 6-4 6-1 score.

Although Nadal won the first set easily, the second set was more of a struggle but he still emerged as the winner.

Gabashvili, who is a Russian tennis player, performed well but was no match for the Spanish tennis champion's skill and power.

Although it looked likely that Nadal was going to win and turned out to be the case, there were nevertheless many fine moments by Gabashvili.

Nadal has now surpassed Chris Evert's past record of 30 successive victories at Roland Garros. Evert had achieved her record between 1974 and 1981.

Nadal said he was not concerned with thinking about beating past records in tennis but just wanted to concentrate on playing at his best.
