Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal wins Toronto Masters
Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has won the Toronto Masters title so it looks as if he is destined to be the next world number one.
22-year-old Nadal defeated Nicolas Kiefer 6-3 6-2 to claim victory in his fifth straight tournament and to extend his impressive winning streak to 29 matches in total.
Rafael Nadal is now only 300 points behind Switzerland's Roger Federer, who is top of the world rankings, and he gets a chance of toppling the Swiss star at the Cincinnati Masters this week.
Nadal will become world number one if he wins the Cincinnati Masters and Federer loses before the semi-finals.
And if not, Roger Federer's four-and-a-half years at the top looks as if it will probably end on 18 August when he stands to lose the 850 points he was given for getting through to last year's Toronto final and being the winner in Cincinnati.
