Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic injures ankle
Top seeded Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic may have to pull out from the Qatar Open because she has injured her ankle.
Ana Ivanovic slipped on the baseline whilst playing against Olga Govortsova, two points before winning with a 6-3 6-1 score.
Ana Ivanovic said: "It definitely hurts a lot. Honestly, it's very questionable for Thursday".
Ana Ivanovic, who had already been defeated in Melbourne by Maria Sharapova, had to have her left ankle strapped before she was able to claim her victory against Olga Govortsova.
Ana Ivanovic is also reported to have said further: "I was a little bit scared and thought I couldn't finish the match. I just took my chances and don't know how I managed to finish. I knew I had to go for my shots because I couldn't run or go into deep rallies. I have to wait to see how it reacts overnight but I'll try to recover as best I can and see if I can go on court"
