Scottish tennis star Andy Murray becomes world number 6
Scottish tennis star Andy Murray has become number six in the world after he claimed his first Masters Series title in Cincinnati on Sunday.
Murray beat world number three Novak Djokovic in the final and this victory advanced him three places higher in the rankings.
Andy Murray, who is next on his way to the Beijing Olympic Games, says he is now feeling confident he can win a Grand Slam event in tennis.
Murray's previous best position was eighth, which he reached in June 2007, so he has now gone up to the highest ranking in his entire career.
Murray will have a chance to win a Grand Slam when he takes part in the US Open at the end of August.
However, his mother Judy has warned her son that winning at the Open would be likely to be more difficult after the Olympic Games. Some players will only have only eight days rest after the Olympics before the US Open begins.
