Scottish tennis star Andy Murray beats Ivan Ljubicic
Scottish tennis star Andy Murray knows he is at his best and ready for a Grand Slam after he defeated Croatian Ivan Ljubicic 6-7 6-4 6-2 at the Kooyong Classic.
Andy Murray said confidently ahead of the Australian Open next week: "I've never been more content before a slam. I feel good, I've trained hard and prepared well."
Andy Murray, who was victorious at last week's Qatar Open, seemed to be having problems against Ivan Ljubicic after getting defeated in the first set 8-6 in the tie-break and then dropping 3-0 down in the second set.
However, as temperatures rose, Andy Murray battled back for five straight games to level the match and then beat Ivan Ljubicic in the final set.
Andy Murray will next play against Brydan Klein from Australia in the play-off for fifth place.
Brydan Klein, who was the 2007 Australian Open junior champion, is the replacement for David Nalbandian who pulled out due to an injured back.
